If You Are Suffering Learn How To Feel Your Best With A Las Vegas Thyroid Physician

By Allan Bigarda

Not many individuals suffer from an acute level of this disease requiring the care of an endocrinologist. This led to a shortage of practitioners in that branch of medicine. A primary doctor can provide more than adequate care for someone with such a condition when it is not life-threatening. Those in the area can turn to a Las Vegas NV Thyroid doctor with some experience relating to the condition.

In the human endocrine system there is the thyroid gland, the pancreas, adrenal glands, ovaries in the female and testes in the male. Those who are unsuccessful in conceiving a child can turn to the endocrinologist for help. Another group of people needing that care is those with diabetes.

Someone with a severe condition such as Graves disease, a goiter or cancer will require the services of an endocrinologist. Those with a mild thyroid condition can function well under the care of a primary doctor. Hashimotos disease with a close to normal thyroid stimulating hormone test level will flourish with that care.

There are two which are debilitating, but not life-threatening. The primary doctor manages care for cases of hypothyroidism and Hashimotos disease. TSH level testing will indicate how far a persons level deviates from the norm. Even a minor deviation can cause chronic exhaustion and hair loss.

These are troubling symptoms. While they are certainly not life-threatening, they can impact the individuals quality of life. It is difficult to maintain a job when Hashimotos disease makes one tired all the time. The ideal physician is the family doctor with experience in this disease.

First the doctor will need to learn the results of a TSH level test. The prescription medication for each person will depend on that level. The way each individual perceives his or her symptoms is as important as any test results.

Levels that do not correlate with how the individual feels may point to the need for additional testing. There may be hormone abnormalities not revealed in the initial testing. An adrenal gland disorder or autoimmune condition may be present along with the thyroid abnormality.
